Anti-seepage Structure in Landfill Project

 

 

The anti-seepage structure of geosynthetics in landfill system generally includes three parts, impervious layer, supporting layer and protective layer.

Geomembrane Landfill hdpe liner and GCL are the main anti-seepage layers, the main role is to prevent liquid or gas migration and leakage. It is the main body of impervious structure.

At present, HDPE geomembranes and PVC geomembranes are the most used in impervious engineering in China. BPM Geosynthetics only produces PE Landfill hdpe liner.

 

 

 

In the seepage control of water storage and hydropower projects, a little water seepage is allowable, single-layer seepage structure is workable.

In the strict anti-seepage projects , such as evaporation oxidation ponds and wastewater ponds that not allow leakage, multi-layer impervious structures are necessary.

They often use two or more layers of geomembrane or GCL, drainage geonet often paved between them as the drainage layer.

 

 

In order to prevent the surface debris gravel and other sharp objects from punctured geomembrane, the geomembrane will generally be laid under geotextile as a protective layer.

 

How to Lay Geomembranes in Landfill

 

 

 

Laying geomembranes procedures

1)When laying the hdpe liner,there are many factors have to considered,temperature,surroundings,laying steps.

After leveling the bottom of the landfill, the underground water should be excavated manually to collect flower-pipe grooves according to the design requirements. The remaining soil should be transported around the bottom of the landfill, and the impermeable materials should be laid from bottom to top.

2) Technological process:

Reservoir bottom plane rammed - 30cm thick pebble groundwater diversion layer - filament geotextile laying (200g/m2) - spread 30cm thick clay layer - spread bentonite cushion 4800g/m2-2mm thick HDPE impermeable film (geomembrae) - joint welding - filament geotextile laying (600g/m2) - 2cm thick medium coarse sand layer - long Silk geotextile (200g/m2) -- 30cm thick pebble leachate diversion layer -- filament geotextile 200g/m2 -- primary waste. In the laying of HDPE impervious film, according to the specific situation of the construction site, it generally starts from the slope first, and then starts from the bottom of the dump. In the laying process of the slope from top to bottom, it is carried out in the order from bottom to top and from top to bottom.
